Pulsatilla & Li
Lisa Teichmann is a Montreal-based flutist, electronic musician and postdoctoral researcher at Université de Montréal's Centre de recherche interuniversitaire sur les humanités numériques (CRIHN). In her live performances, she layers atmospheric layers with flute improvisation to create organic, deep, and natural soundscapes. She enjoys engaging with sounds related to the experience of trauma in the body, its vibratory release, and healing music. Lisa has participated in a number of co-creations, including creating the sound for George Fok's installation "Seeking Stillness" presented by Montreal's Phi Center in 2020, the soundtrack for Sarah Seené's documentary "Portrait de Pierre Bourgault" and, with Chittakone Baccam, the soundtrack for Guillaume Vallée's short film "are you haunted, daddy? (about anxiety)". Her music has been released by DMT Records, Jeunesse Cosmique, and Crochet Disque.
Vivian Li is a sound artist and composer based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Her practice combines synthesizers, acoustic instruments, field recordings, and audio programming through experimentation, improvisational performances, and installations. Driven by a fascination with the therapeutic properties of sound, she aims to create immersive and dreamlike environments that promote softness, intimacy, and a sense of prolonged time. Her work invites listeners to slow down, engage actively or passively, and collectively seek rest as a form of entertainment. Since 2021, Vivian has hosted a monthly radio show, ‘Lo Signal,’ on Montreal's community radio station CKUT 90.3fm. This two-hour slot serves as a sonic playground where she shares her ambient scraps, field recordings, drones, sound experiments, and audio diary.
